General:
Another start before sunrise and a few more deer spotted. The trail followed Kiwi River (north of Lake Sumner) down to Hope River and eventually onto Boyle River all the way to Boyle Village Itself. I met three hunters in the bush that told me about the ChCh Mosque attacks. It felt completely surreal hearing news of that weight when I was in such a peaceful setting. It feels strange even writing about my day’s menial activities when something so horrific has happened so close to home.
My thoughts are with all those people that have been touched by this tragedy.

Mike the general feeling is one of numbness … Imagine is a poignant song for the day… is it so impossible for us to let go of power, allow diversity and celebrate our common humanity? Love really is the answer, but so often fear has a louder voice.
